New Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Teaser Is All Volcano Explosions And Stampeding Dinosaurs
The first full length trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom won't be coming until later this week, but today we have a brand new preview of the blockbuster, and it's pretty insane. Get ready for some volcano and stampede action watching the brand new teaser below:
To date, the only footage we've seen from director J.A. Bayona's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom featured Chris Pratt's Owen Grady scratching the chin of a tiny dinosaur, but this 15 second bit features a very different tone. While we're not yet sure why it is that Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing are back on Isla Nublar, it looks like the sequel will see them facing down a threat much, much bigger and more dangerous than any single creature inhabiting the island: an erupting volcano. Oh, and of course all of the human characters still have to worry about being eaten by dinosaurs as well. That threat clearly is not going away.
Coming on the heels of Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World - which brought in a staggering $1.6 billion at the global box office when it was released back in 2015 - the new prehistoric-styled blockbuster has been kept a total mystery up until now... but obviously things will soon change in a big way in that department. While the finished film won't actually be out for approximately another seven months, Universal is preparing to pull the sheet off the thing later this week. The debut theatrical trailer for the sequel is set to arrive online this Thursday, and along with it we definitely expect to also get at least some form of plot synopsis (something we don't actually have quite yet). And while we can't say precisely for certain yet, it sounds like there is a pretty good chance that the plot centers around lava and ash covering the surface of Isla Nublar.
In addition to Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sports an impressive ensemble that also includes returning franchise stars Jeff Goldblum (as Ian Malcolm) and BD Wong (as Dr. Henry Wu). New faces include James Cromwell, Toby Jones, Ted Levine, and Rafe Spall, and Geraldine Chaplin, though we don't quite know yet what roles each of them will be playing in the blockbuster. You can definitely expect that we will have the debut trailer for you here on CinemaBlend as soon as it launches on Thursday - but be sure to stick around for all of our coverage that will follow it.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be in theaters June 22, 2018.
