Don't Try To Pump Tom Holland About Information On Avengers: Infinity War
There are major blockbusters, and then there's the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movie. The third Avengers film will be the accumulation of nearly a decade's worth of films, as the Russo Brothers unite all of the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe against Josh Brolin's Thanos and his quest to destroy the galaxy. Fans have been eager for any information about the highly anticipated movie, and were given a treat when the first trailer finally debuted online last week. The plot and the way each character weaves into the narrative is still very much a secret, and there's one star who seems to be totally clueless: Tom Holland. The new Peter Parker has been loose lipped about the MCU before, so he's apparently not been privy to much information this time around.
Tom Holland recently addressed this via Twitter, explaining how he wouldn't be able to answer fan questions even if he wanted to. Check out the grade A tweet below.
It's tweets like these that are the reason Tom Holland has been so beloved since he debuted as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. That, and his outstanding performance and gymnastic abilities.
While Tom Holland didn't have to worry quite as much about spoilers during his brief appearance in Civil War (Spider-Man's inclusion and costume was kept a secret for much of the film's marketing), that changed when he led his own film in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He's apparently not so great keeping his mouth shut, which has become a major part of the job with Marvel actors.
It's for this reason that Tom Holland has been on a need to know basis regarding various aspects of Infinity War and the untitled Avengers 4 film. He was apparently not given the film's full script, only the pages he needed to continue playing the web slinger. And once he was done filming scenes, Holland was sure to burn the script so there was no possibility it could go into the wrong hands.
While most of Infinity War's contents are a mystery, it certainly looks like Spider-Man's plotline is simple enough. During the trailer, see that Thanos' arrival triggers Peter's spider-sense (possibly for the first time), as the hairs on his arm stick up and he sees Thanos' terrifying ship over New York. It looks like he'll quickly leap into action, donning the Iron Spider suit we saw at the end of Homecoming. This is Peter's big chance to become an Avenger, but the battle seem harrowing for a teenager.
Luckily, we won't have to wait too much longer for the film to hit theaters. Avengers: Infinity War will arrive May 4, 2018, preceded by Black Panther. Be sure to check out our 2018 release list to plan your trips to the movies in the New Year.
