Watch BB-8 Bow To Prince William And Prince Harry At The Star Wars: The Last Jedi Premiere

It's not often that a droid gets to meet royalty, but that's exactly what went down this week at the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere in London. BB-8 has been out and about at all of the big Star Wars events this week, and the droid was trotted out to meet Prince William and Prince Harry, which meant a royal bow was definitely necessary. You can check out the fun moment, below.

I dunno if anyone ever definitively decided if BB-8 were a girl or boy. Early reports indicated the popular droid was in fact female, but then Neal Scanlon said BB-8 was a boy. Regardless of gender, the droid does not have legs and cannot sink into a curtsy, so we're rolling with bow for the purposes of this article. It's sort of amazing that the caretakers of the droid can get BB-8 to move in ways that mimic human behavior so adequately, but those are some sweet bows to the famous figures, and the movements earn chuckles from Prince William and Prince Harry. BB-8 then turns to the camera before wandering off to charm other people on the red carpet before the premiere.

The BB-8 moment is pretty darn adorable, but if you want some really awesome star power, Kensington Palace also posted video of Prince William chatting with Mark Hamill, or really Mark Hamill doing his thing and talking at Prince William about how grateful he is to be back in England. You can check that out, below.

If you are wondering what Prince William and Prince Harry were even doing at the Star Wars: The Last Jedi London premiere, it's not just that they are superfans of the world George Lucas originally created. In fact, we learned earlier this year that both princes actually show up in Episode VIII, and John Boyega spilled the beans that both show up during the events of the film. The two men were actually presented with the own Stormtrooper helmets that they get to take home and keep during last night's events, which I guess is one of the perks of being royalty.

If you want to see what antics BB-8 is going to be up to in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, you don't have too much longer to wait. The movie finally opens this weekend, which early screenings Thursday night late night and the official premiere starting on Friday, December 15.
