See What Jake Gyllenhaal Could Look Like As Marvel's Moon Knight

According to Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios has 20 more ideas for movies in the works. One would think that in those 20 whopping movies, there'd be a little room for Moon Knight. The Marvel character has long been rumored to be up for his own movie or television series, but there's never been any official progress on any such project. It's likely only a matter of time before Moon Knight makes his way behind a screen, and one popular artist envisions which actor he'd like to see play the part. Check out what Jake Gyllenhaal would look like as the superhero.

The Internet's No. 1 source for fan-casting, Boss Logic, has turned his sights on Moon Knight and has envisioned what the character would look like if he were played by Jake Gyllenhaal. The artist sketched up Gyllenhaal in the classic white costume of the superhero and then posted his efforts to his Twitter account. He captures Gyllenhaal's likeness pretty well and provides both a masked and unmasked version. (The unmasked looks a bit too Assassin's Creed). It's a solid design, though, if Moon Knight were to make the jump to the MCU, his costume would likely be more of a practical armor like Daredevils.

For those who may not know, Moon Knight is a street-level vigilante in the Marvel universe. His real name is Mark Spector, who was granted certain powers by the Egyptian god Khonshu in exchange for his service. Spector would eventually go insane, developing multiple personalities and a tenuous grasp on reality to the point where he's not sure if Khonshu is real or he's always been insane (it's a bit of both). He's kind of like Batman if he had multiple personality disorder.

Moon Knight has been rumored to be in line for both a movie and a Marvel Netflix show. James Gunn once expressed an interest in making a Moon Knight movie, but he's got a full plate with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It's also unlikely that a Netflix show is coming until Disney works out what it wants to do about streaming after its purchase of 20th Century Fox and it's shares in Hulu. Jake Gyllenhaal is an interesting choice for the part, but if certain rumors are true, he's up for a more high-profile Caped Crusader.

Who knows what's happening with Moon Knight, but it's clear that fans are ready to see him up on the big/small screen.
