Zac Efron Gave His Hometown A Nice Greatest Showman Surprise
Zac Efron is a pretty big name in Hollywood at this point. This year he starred in both Baywatch and The Greatest Showman, the latter of which is currently in theaters, and he has a gig as Ted Bundy coming up. Even though Efron is currently a pretty big deal in the movie business, he hasn't forgotten his roots and recently he had a nice surprise for his hometown of Arroyo Grande, California. The actor actually bought out multiple showings of The Greatest Showman in his hometown.
The Fair Oaks Theatre was the one that Zac Efron reportedly attended growing up. So, when The Greatest Showman hit the theater over the holidays, he headed to the box office and bought out three entire showings of the new musical film at the Fair Oaks Theatre. The showings happened on Thursday, December 28 and any moviegoers choosing to head to the theater that day were able to catch the new Hugh Jackman, Zendaya and Efron starrer for free.
Zac Efron's mother, Starla Baskett told The Tribune that the gesture came from the heart, noting,
Speaking of The Greatest Showman, Efron also told the outlet that he actually caught the new musical movie for the first time with his mother, noting that the film as a whole was a hard flick to achieve.
We often hear stories about celebrities spending time making the dreams of sick kids come true or using their money to help the victims of disasters such as the recent wildfires or Hurricane Harvey earlier in 2017. However, it's nice to see a celebrity do something nice for his hometown just for the heck of it. The holidays are good for that sort of thing, too.
