Check Out Ant-Man And The Wasp's Costumes Up Close In New Image

After debuting in 2015's Ant-Man and returning to aid Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War the year after, Paul Rudd's Scott Lang is back for two more superhero adventures in 2018. First he'll be helping his fellow MCU heroes battle Thanos and the Black Order in Avengers: Infinity War, and then he'll be shrinking back into action a few months later for Ant-Man and the Wasp. As you can immediately tell from the latter title, he'll be sharing the spotlight with Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne, and now we finally have our first look at the two of them together in their new costumes in the sequel.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

It's hard to tell from this photo if Ant-Man and Wasp are in Hank Pym's laboratory or if they've infiltrated an enemy base, but either way, those two are properly costumed for shrinking. Scott Lang's Ant-Man costume looks similar to the one he wore in Captain America: Civil War, although there are some noticeable design changes, mainly with where the red is placed. As for Wasp, although director Peyton Reed posted a picture last summer of Hope van Dyne wearing her costume while visiting a classroom, this is our first time seeing her with the helmet on, thus completing the ensemble.

Although Hope van Dyne was an integral character in Ant-Man, she didn't get to join Scott Lang out in the field as a shrinking superhero despite being able to masterfully manipulate the Pym Particles. Fortunately for her, in the movie's mid-credits scene, her father, Hank Pym, unveiled a new prototype Wasp suit he'd been developing with her mother, Janet, who was the original Wasp. Three years later, now we're months away from getting Hope's big Wasp debut and seeing what kind of a sting she packs in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Taking place after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man and the Wasp will follow Scott Lang trying to balance both his life as a parent and his responsibilities as Ant-Man, but when Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym recruit him for a new mission, he'll need to team up with them again and uncover secrets from the past that have long been buried. Along with plenty of returning characters, Ant-Man and the Wasp will also introduce quite a few new faces, like Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will buzz into theaters on July 6. Don't forget to check out our Marvel movies guide to see what other MCU projects are on the way, as well as our 2018 premiere guide to learn what non-Marvel movies will be released in theaters this year.
