According to the casting breakdown, the production is looking for a European actress in her twenties to step in as a "femme fatale," with production on the 2019 sequel set to begin in Europe later this year.
Right off the bat, the two most prominent possibilities that seem to come to mind with regards to casting a "femme fatale" for Spider-Man: Homecoming's sequel are the expert thief, Black Cat and the mercenary, Silver Sable. The two female badasses have long histories with Spidey (notably Cat, as she's often regarded as the go-to costumed female Spider-Man character) and they are already set to hit the big screen in the Sony SpiderVerse with Silver & Black. Recent rumors have suggested a closer continuity between the Sony Spider-Man movies and the Marvel Cinematic Universe than we had previously assumed, so this casting call could represent another step in that direction.
Then again, there are other female characters who could potentially fit this bill. The European setting of the film lends a certain amount of credence to the possibility of Jessica Drew a.k.a Spider-Woman entering the equation. There have also been rumors that Gwen Stacey would make an appearance in the film, so there's apparently no shortage of possible female roles for Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 to pull from in its adaptation of the Spider-Man source material -- if the female character even has origins in the source material at all, that is.
