We're still a few months away from Avengers: Infinity War, arguably one the biggest movies ever made and certainly the biggest Marvel Studios has ever produced. The cast is ginormous, with scenes in the film that are supposed to include at least 40 characters. The characters may take the spotlight, but Infinity War had a crew of people working tirelessly on camera, costumes, sound, and everything it takes to make a movie happen. To thank those people for a job well done, Robert Downey Jr. sent each crewmember a personalized gift: Their very own directors chair. Check it out.
The production of Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled Avengers 4 was a 12-month affair of cast and crew working round the clock to make two of the most anticipated movies of all time. It's nuts to think about the colossal effort it must have taken from every department to make these movies happen, and while I will wait for that behind-the-scenes documentary forever, appreciation waits for no one. Robert Downey Jr. sent each member of the crew a personalized gift to thank them for their hard work, and it even came with a signed engraving from Iron Man himself.
Patrick Istorico, who worked as a film grip the massive on Avengers: Infinity War, received his very own director chair from Robert Downey Jr. Istorico shared the gift via his Instagram, showing off a chair that was personalized with his name. The back of the chair was embroidered with the Infinity War logo, but the coolest part is no doubt the engraved message from Downey Jr. On the arm of the chair, a message from Stark Industries reads "Heart Felt Thanx From The Center Of My Arc Reactor," with Downey Jr.'s signature at the end. It's a seriously classy move from Downey Jr.
That's an incredibly nice gift from the typically generous Robert Downey Jr., especially once you remember that this production may have been his last for Marvel. Those close to production have been teasing that a few major players of the MCU will see an end to their stories after Avengers 4, and it's highly likely that that will include Tony Stark. Whether that means he'll be dead or recast is anyone's guess, but people are no doubt anxious to find out once these movies finally get to theaters.
Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 4, 2018. To learn more about the epic to end all epics, here's everything we know so far about the blockbuster.
