Fifty Shades Freed hits theaters this weekend, marking the end of the latest set of movies based on books. The end actually came pretty quickly, as Fifty Shades of Grey was released in 2015, Fifty Shades Darker in 2017 and Fifty Shades Freed in this first part of 2018. A lot of fans will likely flock to the theater in the coming weeks to catch the final movie, but there's closer for the cast, too. In a recent interview star Jamie Dornan revealed exactly how he feels about the movie franchise ending. He said:
It's tough in some respects, but it's also really nice and kind of bittersweet, I guess. I think when you finish any movie or TV series or whatever, you've invested so much [time] into the character and the job itself and the other actors and the crew.
We've known for a while that Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed were filmed back-to-back after the first movie did well in theaters. Filming just one movie is a lot of work, but filming two means you get to spend a lot of time with the cast and crew, and from what Jamie Dornan has told ET, it will be a little bittersweet to leave it all behind.
It's nice that he seemingly had such fond feelings about his time on set, but from what we know about Jamie Dornan's personal life, it should be nice getting back to his family after all of the hustle and bustle that was involved in creating and doing press for the Fifty Shades movies. He and his wife Millie had their first child just before he started filming Fifty Shades of Grey. Then, he had his second kid just before filming the other two movies, and he's previously said the franchise has kept him away from his kids and his whole family a lot. The past three plus years have also been filled with random sex questions for Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, so I'm guessing the actor won't miss talking about his "wee-bag" on live TV or discussing the nature of the sex scenes he shares with Johnson. Still, the role in Fifty Shades Freed and the previous movies made Jamie Dornan a household name, and there's a lot to be thankful for. Jamie Dornan has already landed gigs in the reboot of Robin Hood, as well as Untogether and My Dinner with Herve.
