Let's be honest, here. People love Jeff Goldblum. The actor has made a name for himself over the years by playing a wide variety of (sometimes) intellectual oddballs, and his distinctive vocal cadence has made him a favorite for folks who like their actors to brim with mysterious weirdness. Well, as if the legend that is Jeff Goldblum isn't already big enough, now his Jurassic Park character, Dr. Ian Malcom, is getting an insanely hot Funko Pop figurine to make everyone swoon. Take a look:
Oh...my. He's got...muscles. Ahem...well, as you can see, the good people at Funko aren't playing around with this figurine. While Jeff Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcom does already have a more traditional figure where he stands and stares straight ahead, that just seems kinda boring compared to this Target exclusive Funko Pop, doesn't it? I mean, a sultry, hilariously sexy pose, pectorals and abs? It's like he's gazing right into our very souls and making all our dreams come true. There's basically no good reason not to add this to your collection of, well, anything, really.
In case it's been a while since you've seen Jurassic Park, this figurine was created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the mega-hit movie, which hit theaters in 1993. In the movie, Dr. Ian Malcolm is a mathematician specializing in chaos theory who's invited to the island to make predictions about the kind of financial difficulties the park could face, and ends up making several pronouncements about the dangerous consequences of bringing dinosaurs back to life. When he and the group are touring the park and break down in front of the T-Rex enclosure, it escapes and Ian risks his life to save the children from the rampaging beast. While running from the creature, he's thrown to the ground and badly hurts his leg, which leads to this super sexy pose once the team gets him to safety. The heroes at Funko pride themselves on taking the best characters from a host of properties and turning them into collectibles for fans, and part of that means shining a spotlight on specific moments from movies, tv shows and video games that get and keep people talking. When you take an action-packed, though thoroughly family friendly, film like Jurassic Park and throw a wounded and totally sexy Jeff Goldblum into it, well, that's a perfect recipe for something fans simply will not stop talking about (or thinking about...probably a lot) and a great idea for a figure that will sell like sexy-ass hot cakes.
The Target exclusive wounded Dr. Ian Malcolm figurine will be available for purchase staring March 14 for $8.99.
