One Unexpected Location Falcon Will Travel To In Avengers: Infinity War
Needless to say, there will be spoilers in this article, so stop reading now if you want to go into Avengers: Infinity War knowing nothing.
Even though it feels like we know a decent amount about Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War -- due in theaters on April 27 -- there are moments when we hear a piece of information, and it reminds us of other information that raises more questions. For instance, on the set of Infinity War last year, we were interviewing Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, and the latter started telling us about his time filming scenes in Scotland. And we were like, "Wait, what?" Mackie elaborated:
It wasn't until I read this transcript, a year later, that I was reminded of a social post Joe and Anthony Russo shared on Instagram of them filming in Scotland... but with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. It was information that I filed away in my brain, but didn't make a connection that Falcon and his team -- which includes Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and more -- that I realized this could be where Thor comes to our planet following a confrontation with Thanos. Will that happen? Possible, but we weren't getting any more information out of Mackie on this day. When we probed a little further to see if Scotland was where Falcon was hiding out after the events of Captain America: Civil War -- where Cap broke his former jogging buddy out of jail, Mackie simply replied, "Nope."
So, we have to wait a little longer to find out what the Avengers are doing in Scotland. But we know for sure that Anthony Mackie filmed scenes there. Could it have been Scotland filling in for a different location? Sure, but why leave Atlanta to do that? When we watched them film, they were using green screen to recreate Wakanda. Do you see Scotland in this trailer?
We'll see how it all plays out when the movie opens in theaters on April 27. Our set visit coverage from Atlanta will continue this week.
