The Infinity War Trailer Hijacked By Deadpool Is Remarkably Entertaining
Avengers: Infinity War has a lot going for it. As the biggest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet, the movie sees the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and other select superheroes joining forces to stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones, which has been years in the making. However, one thing Infinity War doesn't have in it is Deadpool, who cinematically still resides at 20th Century Fox, but do you think that's going to stop the Merc with the Mouth from hijacking Infinity War for his own amusement? Hell no! While it's too late to insert himself into the finalized movie, Deadpool received a wonderful consolation prize by replacing most of the characters in this new fan Infinity War trailer, as you'll see below.
Coloring aside, this Deadpool-themed Avengers: Infinity War trailer from YouTuber Mightyraccoon! starts off just like the original, with Gamora explaining how dangerous Thanos is, but then we see it's not Tony Stark asking who this warmongering alien is, but actually Deadpool. ("Holy bean and beef burrito, who the fuck is this guy?") Then we reach the part where Thanos takes off his helmet, which leads Deadpool to pause the video (just like he did when he noticed the VFX on Cable's arm weren't completed), complain about the Mad Titan looking like a purple Homer Simpson and declare that he'll be Thanos now. Nearly every character from that point forward is replaced by the masked Wade Wilson, and the few who manage to literally keep their heads still share a scene with him, like when Shuri is looking at that hologram.
But it's not enough to just put Deadpool's head on almost everyone. You also need him providing dialogue, so along with a scattering of Ryan Reynolds' actual Deadpool lines, the narrator does his best Reynolds impression and puts his own spin on what many of the characters are saying, from Deadpool Iron Man muttering "Oh fuck" to Deadpool Star-Lord (a.k.a. Daddy DP) shooting down his idea to Deadpool Thanos telling that he doesn't give a fuck if they remember whoever it is he's talking to, even though they've been doing this "bullshit" for 10 years.
As fun as it is to watch Deadpool put his stamp on the Avengers: Infinity War trailer, the fact is that we may soon be reaching a point where this character can actually interact with the MCU. If Disney's purchase of Fox's holdings is finalized, then Wade Wilson could conceivably team up with the likes of Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and more. But for now, this is a great (unofficial) fourth wall break, though seeing Deadpool's head on these other characters could possibly induce nightmares.
The Deadpool-less Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on April 27, but not to worry. It won't be much longer until the cinematic Merc with the Mouth is back on the big screen, as Deadpool 2 arrives on May 18.
