Drew Barrymore Is All About Making Another Movie With Adam Sandler
Drew Barrymore has been in a lot of big movies over the years, including but not limited to E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, Scream, The Wedding Singer and Donnie Darko. A few of these famous movies were projects she completed with Adam Sandler, and during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen the actress revealed that she would like to work with Sandler on another movie in the future. She said:
So, if you are an Adam Sandler fan or a Drew Barrymore fan, or if you just like that particular pairing, it seems there should one day be some more good news on that horizon. (And if you don't at least like The Wedding Singer, that's a damn shame.) The actress spoke a little bit more about the three projects she completed with Sandler, as well, fondly reminiscing a bit more about how they do a movie once a decade. However, she also told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that nothing is moving forward just yet, and the two actors definitely don't have a project picked out currently.
Right now, Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are both set up at Netflix, so the idea of another movie is not out of the realm of possibility. Drew Barrymore currently stars in the comedy series Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix, opposite Timothy Olyphant. Adam Sandler has an overarching movie deal at the streaming service. His latest flick, The Week of will feature him starring opposite Chris Rock. That flick will hit the streaming service on April 27, and it's one of the movies Sandler has been making as part of an overall deal with the subscription streaming service. We also recently heard that his next movie with Netflix might be a murder mystery with Jennifer Aniston starring opposite. We'll let you know if that project moves forward, but Sandler has also worked with Jennifer Aniston in the past on the 2011 movie Just Go With It.
Blended just came out back in 2014, so presumably Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler have a few more years to figure out what they want to do next. While I'm not as partial to Blended, there's no doubt that The Wedding Singer (1998) and 50 First Dates (2004) were both memorable Sandler movies, and two out of three isn't half bad. Here's hoping the fourth effort together will be really compelling, as well.
