Gwyneth Paltrow Has Never Seen An Avengers Movie
When we think about early MCU characters, names like Tony Stark, Thor, and Captain America come to mind. However, there are a slew of other less major characters who have been with the Marvel movies since the early days, including Gwyneth Paltrow, who has played Pepper Potts since 2008's Iron Man. Despite appearing in a slew of Marvel movies, including The Avengers, the actress recently revealed she's never actually seen an Avengers movie. She said:
Gwyneth Paltrow revealed her admission to Marvel on the red carpet for Avengers: Infinity War, so presumably following her comment about never having seen one of Marvel's team-up movies, she actually did view one for the first time. However, it's still a pretty stunning comment, considering first and foremost that Paltrow was in the first Avengers movie that came out back in 2012 and also considering her son is such a self-proclaimed fan. (It should be noted she isn't in Age of Ultron or Civil War, but it's still odd to hear her say she hasn't seen any of them.) Still, she was certainly in for a treat with Avengers: Infinity War, which has been touted as the biggest in the MCU to date.
Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't strike me as the type of person who might typically nerd out over superhero movies, but since she is such a big part of the MCU, it's hard to see how she missed out on The Avengers. Hopefully, she at least watched the Iron Man-based movies she was involved in. Either way, she seemed pumped to be at the premiere, also noting,
As for what her character is up to, we know Pepper Potts has already been confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War and the movie that follows, the currently untitled Avengers 4. The actress shared some photos from the Avengers 4 set a few months ago, and they featured the actress clad in a motion capture suit, indicating she might actually be getting into the action in the upcoming Marvel movie.
We'll have to wait and see, as Avengers 4 doesn't hit theaters until 2019. Avengers: Infinity War actually opens this weekend, however, and if you'd like to know what characters have already been confirmed for the movie, we have you covered. You can take a look at more footage from the premiere, here, as well, or just wait to catch the movie on your own in just a few short days. It is worth noting that screenings in various places are selling out pretty fast, as well.
