SPOILER WARNING: Even though the movie's been out for a month, we're not taking any chances here! Big spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War here.
It's fair to say that there were quite a few people who were left heartbroken after watching Avengers: Infinity War. Death comes for a lot of characters and people have openly admitted to crying right there in the theaters. If you were one of those people, know that you are not alone because Tom Holland was also left heartbroken after watching the movie for the first time. While Holland's Spider-Man is typically viewed as the breaking point for many fans, Holland himself got torn up right at the beginning after watching a certain scene involving Loki, because he didn't know it was coming. According to Holland...
Infinity War was a top secret production, with only the higher-ups actually knowing the full plot of the movie. Not even the actors were told specifics about what happens in the movie and they were given fake scripts so as to protect the movie from getting spoiled by loose lips. So, Tom Holland had the rare treat of being an actor who had little idea what the final movie would look like when he finally sat down to watch it. He was just like a regular fan in this case, and like a regular fan, watching characters die hit him right where he lived.
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is one of the first casualties of Avengers: Infinity War and he also might have one of the most gruesome death scenes. Thanos ends up suffocating Loki with one hand, breaking his neck right in front of his brother, Thor. It's one way to start the movie off and Tom Holland told the crowd at Comicpalooza (via Comicbook.com), that watching the scene for the first time killed him. That's funny, considering that it's Spider-Man's death (and Holland's performance) that most people will say is the moment that sent them over the edge. This writer was in one screening where a 13-year-old girl bawled audibly when this happened, so this movie is getting some reactions, to say the least.
If you'd like to relive these heartbreaking moments for yourself, Avengers: Infinity War is still in theaters. There are lots of other movies playing this summer, some of which won't send you reaching for your tissues; find out all the must-see summer movies coming to theaters soon right here in our handy list.
