Dwayne Johnson And Gal Gadot Are Co-Starring In A Movie, And I Want To Purchase Tickets Now
Star power still stands as an excellent way to determine the potential success of a blockbuster film. With that in mind, there are few stars in the world with more clout and box office potential right now than Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot. They're both riding high on a series of recent, successful projects, and now they're about to join forces for Universal's upcoming film, Red Notice.
We hope you have your wallets ready, because a team-up between Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson will almost certainly be worth taking a look at. The duo is set to team up for Red Notice, Universal's upcoming action-comedy set for a 2020 release. Though plot details about Red Notice have mostly been kept under wraps at this stage, the film has been described as a world-spanning heist-themed action-comedy. Behind the scenes, the film will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (who also wrote the script), and it will be produced by Beau Flynn, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
One interesting thing to note about Red Notice is that it's not taking inspiration from an existing IP. As indicated by Deadline, the film is based on an original script and won't use any known character or storylines. Instead, it looks like the film will take a cue from Dwayne Johnson's upcoming film Skyscraper to rely on a premise and star power to get audiences into theaters. In addition to Johnson and Gadot, a second male star is also apparently set to join the cast as well, but he has not been revealed yet.
The fact that Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson are about headline a movie together makes plenty of sense when we consider how often their names have been uttered in the same sentence over the course of the last few years. For starters, both Gadot and Johnson are members of the Fast and Furious franchise family, having co-starred in Fast Five and Fast and Furious 6. Moreover, Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson are both members of the DC family, with the Israeli actress becoming an instant icon as Diana Prince in Wonder Woman, and the former wrestler set to take on the role of Black Adam in the DCEU.
Lastly, Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot have recently been talked about in the same conversation because they were two of the highest-grossing actors of 2017. Along with fellow Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel (who took the top spot last year), Gadot and Johnson proved their box office power, so putting them together in a film of their own could translate to some major box office earnings. Now it's a matter of waiting to see how Red Notice comes together as it develops, and how it performs when it hits theaters in two years.
CinemaBlend will bring you more information related to Red Notice as new details about the upcoming collaboration between Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot become available to us. The film is set to begin production in April 2019 and will debut on the big screen almost exactly two years from now, on June 12, 2020.
