While Solo: A Star Wars Story may have faded from the minds of average moviegoers, there are still fans parsing out the film's various secrets and cameos that are hidden throughout this summer's offering in the Star Wars galaxy. Not so surprisingly, the prequel adventure detailing the origins of everyone's favorite galactic smuggler has been revealed to have a connection to the last spin-off in the series, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as bounty hunter Tam Posla was confirmed to be in both films. And now, another connection between the two films has been discovered, as the burgeoning galactic rebellion mounting against the Empire has ties in both projects, as you'll see below.
Apparently, the character of Edrio, or "Two Tubes" as he's also known to go by in the Star Wars galaxy, has served with both Enfys Nest and Saw Gurerra. The reveal that he was in Solo: A Star Wars Story working with the former came from co-writer Jon Kasdan's Twitter feed, as he mentioned the connection in response to a fan's attempted connection of Rogue One canon to that of the previously existing Lando Calrissian novels. While the suggested link between Lando and Rogue One's Chirrut Imwe didn't exactly pan out, this new nugget of knowledge gladly took its place. This only further cements Edrio's place in the Star Wars canon, as his connection with Saw goes even further back to the time frame of the Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels, with the two flying together, through the events of the fourth season two-parter "In The Name Of The Rebellion." Between that episode, his appearance in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Edrio's eventual debut in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we get a pretty strong through-line for the character to follow between the prequel films and the classic trilogy canon.
While Solo: A Star Wars Story didn't feel like it contained the sort of roots that sink too deep into the bedrock of the series, it appears that assumption was as wrong as ever. It wouldn't be that surprising to discover that the film is hiding more details under the surface for fans to discover when the film reaches home video. We'll all have the opportunity to try and find out for ourselves, when the film hits Blu-ray and DVD on September 25th.
