Is The Avengers 4 Title Hidden In Age Of Ultron?
Thanos' victory over the heroes in Avengers: Infinity War brought a ton of death and destruction, and it's unclear how Tony Stark and his buds will be able to recover from the finger snap of death. But with Captain Marvel arriving in theaters first, The Russo Brothers have been keeping the secrets of Avengers 4-- especially its title. Fans have been trying to surmise what the Phase-ending movie might be called, and now one theory indicates it could have been mentioned in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Check it out.

Well, this is exciting. While released back in 2015 and directed by Joss Whedon, it would be epic for this line from Age of Ultron to be so connected to the upcoming Avengers blockbuster. Unfortunately, it's unclear when the answers will finally come from Marvel.
This latest fan theory comes from Reddit user u/HeisenDiaN, who pointed to one specific scene from Age of Ultron's runtime. Shortly after Paul Bettany's Vision arrives on the scene, Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch claims she saw Annihilation in the robot's mind. One possible explanation comes from his connection with the villainous Thanos, although Vision's bond with the Mind Stone also opens up this line for particular connection to the events of Infinity War and Avengers 4.
Infinity War followed Thanos as he collected the Infinity Stones from the galaxy, at great personal cost to both the MCU's heroes, and the purple villain himself. And after slowly becoming more powerful, Thanos released the fury of the Stones in order to procure the Mind Stone from Vision on Wakanda, therefore completing his task. Its Vision's death that is the final nail in the coffin for the galaxy, and half of its population was wiped out with the snap of a finger.
Annihilation is just the latest in a line of potential names for Avengers 4, which started popping up the minute Infinity War arrived in theaters. Every frame from The Russo Brothers' latest blockbuster has been dissected, especially the lines uttered by Doctor Strange after he envisioned the future. It's currently unclear when the title will be revealed, as there are quite a few months before it arrives in May.
While The Russo Brothers originally wanted to keep Avengers 4's title under wraps in order to allow Infinity War to speak for itself, they've since revealed that the plan backfired a bit. There's so much anticipation and hype around the subject, that the title will likely be disappointing-- given the months of waiting and theorizing. Furthermore, the mysterious title has in some ways overshadowed the massive movie itself.
All will be revealed when Avengers 4 arrives in theaters on May 3rd, 2019. In the meantime, check out our 2019 release list to plan your trips to the movies in the New Year.
