What Marvel’s Gwyneth Paltrow Could Look Like As Rescue In Avengers 4
It's a very exciting time for The Marvel Cinematic Universe, as a decade's worth of filmmaking and serialized storytelling have come to a head. Avengers: Infinity War was an epic and surprisingly emotional moviegoing experience, and ended with Thanos' shocking victory over the heroes. Fans are eager to see how the heroes fight back in Avengers 4, and now it looks like Pepper Potts is joining the fray.
A few leaked photos from Avengers 4 recently hit the internet, featuring Gwyneth Paltrow in an Iron Man suit of her own. This could indicate Pepper Potts taking on the superhero role of Rescue from the comics-- an event fans have been hoping for since 2007's Iron Man. Now a fan has posted a photo of what Rescue could look like, check it out.

Is anyone else geeking out? While not an actual image from Avengers 4, this rendering shows that Pepper could look like as a bonafide superhero of her own. May 3rd suddenly seems so far away.
This new image comes from Redditor Alioramus7, who did his own version of the Rescue armor. It's currently unclear exactly what the suit will look like in Avengers 4, but the blue armor and female-fitted design is enough to get any Marvel fan excited.
In the Marvel comics, Pepper Potts eventually takes on the role of Rescue in order to join Tony Stark's superheroic adventures. The suit is armored with different capabilities than Tony's, including defensive abilities like creating force fields. While Pepper has suited up a few times throughout the MCU, taking on the role of Rescue will put Gwyneth Paltrow's signature character in the action in new ways.
Marvel fans have been hoping for Pepper to turn into Rescue for years now, and their suspicions were especially piqued during the filming process of Infinity War and the still untitled Avengers 4. Despite her long tenure in the MCU, Gwyneth Paltrow has been known to accidentally reveal spoilers from time to time. So when she posted a photo from the set wearing a motion capture suit, fans deduced that she'd likely be gearing up to battle Thanos.
But when Infinity War arrived in theaters in April, Pepper Potts didn't have much of a role. After her jog with Tony is interrupted by Doctor Strange's apocalyptic warning, Iron Man leaves his new bride behind to start taking on the Black Order. We hear her voice briefly as he ascends into space, with fans speculating whether or not she was actually gearing up and fighting back on Earth.

The Avengers and Guardians (what's left of them) will need all the help they can get in order to take on Thanos, and hopefully reverse his horrifying snap of death. With so many characters reduced to dust or worse, newcomers like Captain Marvel are sorely needed. So it stands to reason that Pepper Potts would want to join the fray-- especially after everything she's already survived throughout the Iron Man movies.
All will be revealed when Avengers 4 arrives in theaters May 3rd, 2019. In the meantime, check out our 2019 release list to plan your trips to the movies of the New Year.
