Infinity War’s Iron Spider Costume Could Have Looked Very Different
Despite coming out back in April, Marvel fans and cinephiles alike haven't stopped talking about the wild events of Avengers: Infinity War. The Russo Brothers seemingly did the impossible, servicing a large ensemble of heroes, and balancing both action and character-driven story. Chief among them was Tom Holland's Spider-Man, who stepped it up as an official Avenger, before tragically falling in battle.
In order to survive the battle on Titan (and the journey there), Peter Parker wore the Iron Spider suit, which was briefly teased during the final moments of Spider-Man: Homecoming. But it turns out that the high-tech costume could have had a very different look-- check it out.

Well, that's quite different. And while it looks decidedly less flashy, the Iron Spider costume definitely would have stood out-- especially in regards to its limited use of the color blue, and the flashy white accents.
This Iron Spider concept art was posted by Redditor MyRagingSpideySense, and shows how different Spider-Man could have looked during the events of Avengers: Infinity War. While no doubt full of the awesome tech that the young hero utilized on Titan, it looks decidedly less armored than the that made it into the final product. One glimpse at Peter in Tony Stark's latest suit shows that its Iron Man-esque in capabilities, and isn't the same iconic costume that the fandom is used to.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe usually lands on epic costumes for its heroes and villains, but there are plenty of drafts before the final look is decided. Hardcore comic book fans usually judge superhero movies based on how accurate they are to the source material, so the pressure is on to deliver awesome looks for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Spider-Man is one of the most popular Marvel fans of all time, so the studio had to bring something big for the friendly neighborhood web slinger.
It should be interesting to see how Spider-Man's costumes continue to change, as his tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe rolls on. Tom Holland recently debuted his upcoming suit for Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is all red and black. It's unclear how he gets this new costume or what fancy Stark tech is included, but the possibilities seem endless.
Rather than a plan old homemade suit a la Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, the MCU's version gave the web slinger a ton of upgrades. While Tony Stark originally put training wheels on its capabilities, the tech includes a drone, parachute, auto aim, and his own operating system. Things got even crazier with the Iron Spider, which helped the still young superhero face off against the awesome power of Josh Brolin's Thanos.
