This weekend, moviegoers can catch Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson sharing the screen in Creed II, but the two of them have something else in common: they have both been in an MCU movie. Thompson played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, while Jordan was the villain Killmonger in Black Panther. Though these two characters have never met, if they were to ever fight, Valkyrie would win hands-down, says Thompson.
Creed II is a movie with a lot of fist fights in it, but all that action goes to Michael B. Jordan. Tessa Thompson's character isn't a fighter in the movie, but she's more than proven her action skills as Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok. Valkyrie became an instant fan-favorite in the threequel, and she had plenty of opportunities to kick ass and take names.
Jordan similarly took on an action-heavy role in a Marvel movie, only his character was a bit more cut-throat. Killmonger made his debut in Black Panther, and he's considered to be one of the best MCU villains. Killmonger didn't make it out of his debut alive, but that doesn't stop people from wondering if this kill-happy villain could have beaten Thompson's Valkyrie in a one-on-one fight.
He absolutely could not win, if you're asking Thompson. Both she and Jordan interviewed each other for IGN, and one of the questions was who would win in a fight between their two Marvel characters. Before Jordan could even finish asking the question, Thompson said that Valkyrie would win. She doesn't need any more thought on the subject!
Considering that Valkyrie is a space alien with hundreds of years of combat experience on the most elite fighting force in Asgard, and Killmonger is a normal human who fights well, the answer to this question probably doesn't need much debate. Killmonger may be able to defeat Adonis Creed, but Valkyrie's a whole other story.
The two actors also discussed things related to the Rocky franchise. Since Creed II deals with former Rocky antagonist Ivan Drago and his son, people are wondering if we could ever see the return of Clubber Lang from Rocky III. Keeping with the theme of sons, Jordan was asked who should play the son of Clubber Lang in a future Creed movie. Jordan had the excellent answer of Winston Duke, who played M'Baku in Black Panther.
I don't think it's a good idea to have Clubber Lang's son be the opponent in a Creed movie, but that is some good casting right there. Duke is a rising star after Black Panther and he's got the physicality for the role.
