Brazil's Comic-Con Experience is almost over, and it was a big weekend for Marvel. Not only did a new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer drop, but new footage of Captain Marvel also made a debut. Star Brie Larson was in attendance at the panel, which was absolutely packed with excited fans. It was a great experience for Larson, who shared a video of the hyped crowd of Captain Marvel fans.
Captain Marvel has been a long time coming, but the movie and its title heroine will finally arrive in March 2019. The movie dropped a new trailer earlier this week that got us all even more excited, but Marvel wasn't content to just share one trailer. Entirely new footage was shown in Brazil, which featured a sequence of Carol Danvers escaped from a Skrull ship.
The extended footage (via ScreenRant) saw Carol being held captive by the Skrulls, who are trying to steal a piece of information buried in Carol's mind. However, Carol manages to escape the device, and even with her powers restrained she is easily able to fight back the Skrull. She then manages to find an escape pod and leave the spaceship.
The other bit of footage shown involved Carol training with Jude Law's mysterious Kree warrior. Not much is known about Law's character but there are rumors that he could be playing a villain. The footage has yet to be released online. For now, the Captain Marvel footage -- like the first Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer -- is exclusive to the fans in Brazil.
As you can probably imagine, people reportedly went nuts for this footage at CCXP18. In addition to the above video, Marvel was kind enough to supply some pictures of the event on their social media page. Check out these pics of Brie Larson at the panel, in addition to another shot at that very large crowd.
Hopefully, all of this hype will quickly move us to March. Captain Marvel is a highly-anticipated film in the MCU, and there are many fans excited to see the character finally appear on screen. The film is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and takes place in the '90s, and will include younger versions of Nick Fury and Agent Coulson.
Captain Marvel will release in theaters on March 8, 2019. To learn more about the film, here's what we know so far about Captain Marvel.
