Macaulay Culkin Played Home Alone's Kevin Again, Watch The Video
It's the holiday season, and there are few things that can get you in the Christmas sprit quite like watching a young Kevin McCallister enjoying having the house to himself and thwarting burglars with a Macgyver-like use of homemade booby traps. Times may have changed, but Kevin is still relaxing at home, only this time with the benefit of modern technology. Watch Macaulay Culkin reprising Kevin McCallister from Home Alone in the video below:
That jingling sound you hear is the Home Alone reboot-quel being greenlit in 3, 2, 1... It's actually really fun to see Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister again after all these years, especially around the holidays. And the actor makes some great, exaggerated facial expressions in the video as a grown up Kevin.
With all the same surroundings as in the original film, recreations of different scenes and even the same music, the nostalgia here is on point and turned up to 11.
Macaulay Culkin doesn't really watch Home Alone much anymore, unless of course his girlfriend wants to, so it's funny to see him embrace it here. As you might expect from the actor, and his character really, he is a little cheeky in his Twitter post, saying that he has never wondered what Kevin McCallister was like as an adult. It's hard to argue that point, unless you were curious what hugely negligent parenting would do to a kid almost 20 years later.
What we see is that Kevin McCallister remains the kid we met in 1990; he still likes mac and cheese and enjoys having the house to himself, only now he's a little older, has back problems and is a little wiser. To that end, he is still doing the same things he did before, only now he can use the Google Assistant to make things easier.
And as far as a pitch for Google's digital assistant is concerned, this ad really sells the functionality the platform offers to control your whole home. Kevin is able to manage the big house all by himself thanks to the integration of the Google Assistant software with all of the various smart home products available today like a video doorbell, a robot vacuum, as well as smart thermostats, lighting and locks.
He's come a long way from rigging up pulleys and running around the house to throw off intruders. This time, the wet bandits were completely deterred and he didn't have to almost murder them. That's progress.

Also of note is that either Kevin or Buzz has retired the Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls cutout from Home Alone for a Kevin Durant Golden State Warriors cutout here. So clearly someone's only team loyalty is to popularity and success.
