Netflix New Releases: Movies And TV Shows Coming To Netflix Streaming In February 2019
February has historically been known as "the short month." With only 28 days to its run, it leaves anyone used to the standard 30 or 31-day months a bit hurried to accomplish their usual business. However, that shouldn't stop anyone from taking a break, and getting cozy yet again with their Netflix account, especially as the gloomy and snowy whether continues in many parts of the country.
While last month's line-up surely brought some big guns our way, February's incoming crop has some spectacular series, specials, and films that are bound to make this quick month go by even faster. Keep in mind, the list below is subject to change; but should this hold up, here's what to expect on Netflix in the coming month. In the world of movies, Jaws fans should be thrilled to see that all four films have been brought back to the Netflix fold. While purists will encourage you to stick with just the first film, Jaws 2 seems to be gaining some steam in the underground circuit of shark film enthusiasts; though Jaws 3 and Jaws: The Revenge are still pretty rejected. If you prefer your carnage through elaborate twists of fate, Final Destination will be available for your perusal. But if you want to keep the spirit of the Academy Awards alive, why not give As Good As It Gets a spin, as it won two Oscars out of its seven nominations, and still as heartwarming today as it was in 1998.
Of course, those of you more inclined to the delights of Netflix original programming, your ship has come in yet again! Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, Chef's Table, and even a special season of Nailed It! which travels to Mexico are all unfurling throughout February's shortened month of merriment. But don't forget about newcomers like The Umbrella Academy, and specials like Ken Jeong: You Complete Me, Ho, that will be debuting alongside those returning champions.
Finally, and probably the most exciting developments for February's Netflix debuts, is not one, but two hotly awaited properties from Hollywood's directing elite. First, Tony Gilroy's Velvet Buzzsaw sees the Nightcrawler director reteaming with Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo, in a tale of the art world being haunted by some killer paintings. Then, out of nowhere, comes Steven Soderbergh with High Flying Bird, a film that looks like it does for basketball what Ballers does for football, just with more Soderbergh mixed in.
February is clearly not short of Netflix excitement, so don't forget to keep track of the titles you're interested in and their release dates. Mike's expertise ranges from James Bond to everything Alita, making for a brilliantly eclectic resume. He fights for the user.
