Timothee Chalamet Didn’t Realize He Was Wearing S&M Gear To The Golden Globes
The entertainment aspect of Awards shows is multi-tiered. Aside from acceptance speeches, hosting duties, and musical numbers, there's also the spectacle of the red carpet, and the fashions worn by beloved celebrities. A-listers are styled to the nines, especially if they happen to be nominated that year. Just look at Beautiful Boy's Timothee Chalamet, who rocked a black shirt and sparkling harness at this year's Golden Globes.
Once photos from the red carpet hit the internet, plenty of movie fans took notice of Timothee Chalamet's harness-- especially as its an accessory typically used in the bedroom and within the S&M world. The 23-year-old actor recently spoke about his ignorance to the Golden Globes costume, revealing:
Talk about a wardrobe malfunction. While Timothee Chalamet's stylists likely knew what a harness really was, it seemed the actor actually rocking it at the Golden Globes was blissfully unaware. That might be a good thing, as he might not have been so brave as to wear the sparkly accessory otherwise.
Timothee Chalamet's comments are from his recent appearance on Ellen (via Huffington Post) are sure to pique interests for fashion fans who took notice with Chalamet's Golden Globes get up. But in fact, he wasn't the first or only actor recently wearing the S&M accessory on the red carpet. The trend arguably started with last year's Oscars, as Olympian Adam Rippon wore a leather harness underneath his blazer. Check it out.
Almost a year later, and Timothee Chalamet has joined the trend. Even if the acclaimed Beautiful Boy and Call Me By Your Name actor didn't exactly know what he was wearing. In juxtaposition, it seems like Adam Rippon knew exactly what he was doing-- just check his caption.
The trend of wearing harnesses actually continued through last night's Screen Actor's Guild Awards. During the red carpet, Black Panther standout Michael B. Jordan wore a floral harness over his tux. Check out a photo of the evidence below, courtesy of Cosmo. Even Timothee Chalamet seemed tickled pink with the costume choice.
Harness bros forever. Ok maybe that's pushing it, but you have to commend Michael B. Jordan and Timothee Chalamet for making such bold costume choices. Whether or not Jordan knew the roots of the accessory are still a mystery.
