Looks Like Captain Marvel's Cat Might Steal The Show
Goose is about to be a huge star. Captain Marvel opens March 8, with Brie Larson in the lead role of Carol Danvers, and Samuel L. Jackson returning as a younger '90s-era Nick Fury. Goose already had fans talking with that adorable moment in the trailer when Fury cooed over the cat. Comic book fans are curious to see if Goose will take on the backstory of Carol's Marvel Comics cat Chewie, who was actually part of an alien species called Flerken. However Captain Marvel handles Goose's storyline, it may just steal the whole movie:
All hail Goose! Steven Weintraub of Collider shared some very early feedback on the movie, which is easy to believe, since cute animals always steal the show.
For anyone who immediately jumps to a negative conclusion, that Goose stealing the movie says something bad about the rest of Brie Larson's showcase, you should recall that many fans said the same thing about Groot stealing the Guardians movies. "Rabbit" and Thor's dynamic was also the best part of Avengers: Infinity War, to some audience members. And many Star Wars fans will always adore the Ewoks, no matter the contrary grumblings.
Cute + cool will always give a win to many fans. In this case, the cool factor may be in Goose as an actual Flerken, if they really go down that route and showcase it.
Flerkens are intelligent creatures with pocket dimensions inside their mouths, which gives them the power of dimensional travel, in addition to letting them store huge amounts of material. Also, in the comics, Chewie the Flerken had giant pink tentacles with teeth come out as a defense mechanism. It looked like this:
If Captain Marvel shows anything like that, hell yeah Goose is going to steal the movie.
Captain Marvel has already given Goose his/her own poster, along with the other major characters. Plus, Marvel is issuing plenty of Goose merchandise, including LEGO and Funko Goose. Kids are probably going to want their own Goose stuffed animals, especially if they have a special Flerken twist.

As we've already noted, 2019 is going to be a particularly big year for movie animals. Some fans half-jokingly suggested a crossover between John Wick 3's dogs and Goose the cat, and I'm all the way down for that.
Captain Marvel, starring this adorable orange cat and a bunch of human actors, opens in theaters March 8. It will be followed very closely by its MCU cousin Avengers: Endgame on April 26, and then in July Peter Parker will (somehow) return with Spider-Man: Far From Home.
