Bill And Ted Face The Music Has Found Their Excellent Daughters
A lot can change in three decades. In the case of William Preston and Theodore Logan, a.k.a. Bill and Ted, while their personalities are the same as they were in their first two theatrical appearances, following the events of Bogus Journey, they settled down with their significant others and had children. Now we’ve learned that Brigette Lundy-Paine (left) and Samara Weaving (right) will play the daughters of these lovable buffoons in the upcoming Bill and Ted 3, a.k.a. Bill and Ted Face the Music.
We’ve known for a while that Bill and Ted’s kids would fit into Bill and Ted Face the Music somehow, but now we know specifically who they’ll be. Brigette Lundy-Paine (in the left picture) will play Billie Logan and Samara Weaving will play Thea Preston. That’s right, these men basically named their daughters after each other. How sweet!
Brigette Lundy-Paine currently stars as Casey Gardner in the Netflix series Atypical, and she’s also appeared in movies like The Glass Castle, Downsizing and Action Point. Samara Weaving’s notable credits include movies like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Babysitter, and TV shows like Ash vs Evil Dead and SMILF.
Here’s what Bill and Ted Face the Music producer Scott Kroopf had to say about Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving’s castings:
It’s unclear if Billie and Thea will have similar personalities as their fathers or if the proverbial apples do fall far from their respective trees (judging by the above comment, perhaps the first option?), but they will be joining Bill and Ted on their latest adventure to save the universe. You’ll also be seeing plenty more of both Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving beyond Bill and Ted Face the Music, as the former appears later this year in Fair and Balanced and the latter has Ready or Not and Guns Akimbo also coming out this year.
Along with Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves obviously reprising Bill and Ted, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving will also be joined in Bill and Ted Face the Music by William Sadler, who will reprise the Grim Reaper. Bill and Ted Face the Music will also honor George Carlin, who played Rufus in the first two movies and passed away in 2008.
As those who’ve seen Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventureand Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey will recall, the two were destined to write a song that would save the world, but they still haven’t done so. Cut to now, a visitor from the future arrives to tell them that their song is the only thing that can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. This leads to Bill, Ted and their daughters embarking on a new journey, and they’ll be helped along the way by old friends and even a few music legends.
