By Avengers: Infinity War, you'd almost think an OG Marvel Cinematic Universe star would know who plays Bucky Barnes. Not if you're Gwyneth Paltrow! Pepper Potts is the gift that keeps on giving. The other day, she genuinely didn't believe she was ever in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now a video from last year has resurfaced online, appearing to show Sebastian Stan at the Infinity War premiere as we hear familiar voices in the background discussing his identity:
Gwyneth Paltrow: Who's that?Chris Pratt: Sebastian Stan plays Bucky. [pause] Bucky is The Winter Soldier.Gwyneth Paltrow: Oh. OK.

There's no way Gwyneth Paltrow should be the world's "most hated" celebrity. She's a gem. Maybe not a big Marvel fan off set, but still a gem.
Even her "Oh OK" isn't like "Ooooh okay, now I remember!" It's more like the "Oh OK" you'd give if Chris Pratt had said Sebastian Stan did the catering on set. I doubt hearing that Bucky was The Winter Soldier clarified anything.
My fondest wish is that Gwyneth Paltrow is just trolling everyone. That she knew perfectly well she was in Spider-Man: Homecoming and she knew perfectly well Sebastian Stan plays Bucky and that Bucky first appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger, before continuing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
But I think she just lives so lightly in this MCU world that she doesn't delve too deep -- or actually watch the movies. She's also pretty loose about spoilers, as we saw when she casually revealed Tony and Pepper would get married and have a child, long before we saw anything like that in Avengers: Endgame.
Granted, Pepper and Bucky didn't exactly share any direct scenes together, so it's not like Gwyneth Paltrow forgot an immediate co-star. And there are dozens of main characters in the MCU. Pepper spent most of her time across the films with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan. If anything, Paltrow should also be asking Chris Pratt who he is and who he plays in the MCU. Maybe she went ahead and asked Sebastian Stan that very question after talking to Pratt. That would be hilarious.
Sebastian Stan will return as Bucky Barnes in the Falcon and Winter Soldier series coming to Disney+. Some fans thought Bucky might be named the new Captain America, but that honor went to Falcon. Bucky gettin' blown off all over the place!
Just for shits and giggles, Gwyneth Paltrow should join Tom Holland and Chris Hemsworth for their next joint interview. Or have her be part of any Team Thor TV mockumentary; Chris Hemsworth did say he'd be willing to do more. Don't even give her a script, just put her in a house with Thor and Darryl and let her casually question everything.
