Jason Mewes Confirms His Ben Affleck Scene For Jay And Silent Bob Reboot Has A Very Special Guest
Yesterday the first trailer for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot dropped, and one of the biggest surprises in the preview is that Ben Affleck is showing up, making this his first appearance in a Kevin Smith movie since Clerks II. He’ll be reprising Holden McNeil, who he previously played in Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
It turns out, though, that Ben Affleck’s scene in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot will be special beyond this just being the actor’s return to the View Askewniverse. While speaking with CinemaBlend, Jason Mewes, who’s obviously playing Jay once more, revealed that his and Kevin Smith’s scene with Affleck will also include an appearance from his daughter, Logan Lee. So if the young girl decides later in life she wants to act, she can count this as her first credit.
Jason Mewes didn’t elaborate on how Logan Lee fits into Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, but since we saw in the trailer that Holden McNeil is at Hollywood Chronic-Con for a podcast recording to talk about his time working on Bluntman and Chronic, we can reasonably assume that Logan Lee will be an attendee… properly supervised by a parent, of course. Who knows, maybe she’s Holden’s daughter.
You can listen to Jason Mewes talk more about what it was like to work with Ben Affleck again below.
Logan Lee appearing in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is reminiscent of how Kevin Smith’s daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, appeared in 2001’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back as the infant Silent Bob. Harley will also appear in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, only now she’s playing Millennium Falcon, Jay’s estranged daughter from his time with Shannon Elizabeth’s Justice.
Of course, Ben Affleck is just one of the many cameos packed into Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. For one thing, he’s not even the only Batman actor appearing, as we’ll also see Diedrich Bader, who’s reprising Gordon the security guard and Val Kilmer, who’s playing Bluntman in the reboot movie opposite Melissa Benoit’s Chronic.
Other notable cameos in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot include Matt Damon (who Jason Mewes unfortunately wasn’t able to reunite with), Joe Manganiello, Fred Armisen, Method Man, Rosario Dawson, Jason Biggs, James Van Der Beek, Chris Hemsworth, Craig Robinson and Tommy Chong.

Poking fun at all the reboots and remakes that are more plentiful than ever, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot sees the hetero life-mates traveling back to Hollywood to stop a reboot of Bluntman and Chronic from being made, echoing the journey they took nearly 20 years ago in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back on the original Bluntman and Chronic. It is the seventh movie in Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse (eight if you count 2013’s Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie).
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot hits theaters on October 15, but if you’re at San Diego Comic-Con, the movie’s panel will take place tomorrow evening after the big Marvel Studios presentation.
