New Gemini Man Trailer Has Will Smith Fighting Will Smith On Motorcycles
Over the past few years, we've seen Will Smith in a variety of big screen roles. From family hits like Aladdin to comic book projects like Suicide Squad, the actor has constantly proven his versatility. Ang Lee's upcoming blockbuster Gemini Man will bring Smith back into the action world, and in dual roles. The actor/musician recently kicked ass in his Netflix debut with Bright, although his new movie will contain double the Smith, as he battles a younger version of himself.
The first trailer for Paramount and Skydance Media's Gemini Man got the internet's attention quickly, and a new one just dropped. This contains even more action, including thrilling motorcycle chase action, where the vehicle is used as a bonafide weapon. Check it out below:
Seriously how cool is that? Gemini Man looks like an absolutely wild ride, and has the potential to be a viral movie event. Now let's break down exactly what we're being shown in this explosive look at the movie.
The new Gemini Man trailer opens up on a motorcycle chase, between Will Smith's Henry Brogen. While discussing how the experience was like chasing a ghost, it soon became clear that it was actually his clone. Enter Junior, with Smith de-aged through cutting edge visual effects. Seeing a younger version of himself stops Henry from pulling the trigger, and their connection is established.
Henry is flabbergasted by seeing his own reflection, and he tries to connect with the doppelganger. Will Smith's older character has a big issue with his DNA being farmed without his knowledge, and tells Junior they should team up. After all, the clone had been lied to his entire life. Unfortunately, Junior doesn't buy it, and the main conflict of the movie is started.
Junior appears to be a super deadly version of his father/twin, although he's got particular skill on a motorcycle. Aside from being an amazing driver, Junior is also able to use his vehicle as a weapon-- something he does multiple times throughout this Gemini Man trailer. It's an epic stunt, one that seems perfect for the Fast and the Furious franchise. Ang Lee never helmed one of those projects, but his resume is an impressive one that includes Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain.

While Henry looks like he has his hands full fighting off his clone, he will luckily have some help. Mary Louise Winstead's character Danny is heavily featured in this trailer, and appears to be Junior's partner in keeping his life. She's got action experience in movies like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and the upcoming Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), and looks like she's doing plenty of artillery work in Gemini Man.
The epic Gemini Man trailer also came with a cool new poster, featuring the two Will Smiths. Check it out below.
Overall, Gemini Man looks like a wild ride, and will once again keep Will Smith at the head of pop culture. It's almost like Deadshot was still alive, despite Smith not singing on to reprise his sharp shooting role in James Gun's The Suicide Squad.
Gemini Man will become in theaters on October 11th. In the meantime, check out our 2019 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.
