How Much Screen Time Do The Avengers Get In Endgame And Infinity War? Hint: One Gets More Than Thanos

After a decade of MCU films centering on the Infinity Stones, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame assembled the main players of this established universe and concluded the saga. The pair of epics saw the departures of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America, and a passing of the torch for the next crew of heroes (such as the promotion of Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and Anthony Mackie’s Falcon). But which characters in the ensemble got the most screen time?

Since Tony Stark led the franchise since 2008’s Iron Man, and the two films were tasked with closing out his beloved run as the hero, he unsurprisingly has the highest screen time between Infinity War and Endgame. His overall time is ironically 3001 seconds, according to Shinya Kogami’s calculations. It may have barely missed his famous “Love You 3000” quote, but it’s close enough to place a smile on the faces of Marvel fans.

Right behind the 50 minutes Iron Man has on screen is Thanos with roughly 38 minutes of screen time. It was inevitable! Understanding the villain is central to the pair of films, especially since the motives and powers of Josh Brolin’s character were only hinted at in previous movies. At third place is Steve Rogers at 35 minutes. Alongside RDJ’s hero, this was Chris Evans’ last hurrah, though he was given a much happier ending.

Check out the top 10 MCU characters with the highest screen time in Infinity War and Endgame below:

1. Tony Stark (50 minutes)2. Thanos (38 minutes)3. Steve Rogers (35 minutes)4. Thor (32 minutes)5. Bruce Banner (25 minutes)6. Gamora (21 minutes)7. Black Widow (19 minutes)8. Nebula (17 minutes)9. Hawkeye (16 minutes)10. Scott Lang (15 minutes)

At No. 4, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor certainly stole the show in the last two Avengers films. He memorably teaming up with his pal Rocket for Infinity War, and him becoming “Fat Thor” for Endgame was a huge talking point of the film. Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk also unsurprisingly comes in at No. 5, considering the character was given a trilogy of sorts to have him evolve into Smart Hulk by Endgame.

Guardians of the Galaxy’s Gamora ended up playing a large role in the Avengers films because of her ties to Thanos with 21 minutes of screen time. If we were looking at Infinity War alone, Zoe Saldana’s character actually comes in at second after Thanos’ top spot, just 35 seconds above Tony Stark. Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow makes the top 10. However, considering her character dies in Endgame, 19 minutes may seem too short a time for the founding Avenger. She will return for Black Widow next summer along with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, who has a Disney+ series coming in Phase Four.

Rounding out the top 10 are Nebula and Ant-Man, who both had important roles. Karen Gillan’s character was the troubled second daughter of Thanos and Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang was also instrumental to Endgame since he had the technology needed for the characters to go on the Time Heist.
