First Bad Boys For Life Trailer: Watch Will Smith Dodge Bullets And A Bazooka

If you had to see it to believe it, here it is! After 16 years apart, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's badass detectives are teaming back up for Bad Boys For Life at the top of 2020. The threequel is a long time coming after years of delays and setbacks but now it looks like it will be well worth the wait. Check out the awesome first trailer below:

Boy, does this look sleek, action-packed and most of all… hilarious! The first official trailer for Bad Boys For Life from Sony Pictures really delivers from start to finish. It's exciting to see the iconic pair Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back together again, having a ball and proving they have another exciting story to tell with the franchise that kick-started their action-comedy careers in the ‘90s.

The trailer starts with Will Smith’s Detective Mike Lowrey coming out of a shiny blue show-stopping car, before Lawrence’s Detective Marcus Burnett hits the door with a fire hydrant on the way out, clueing in their chemistry quickly as they bicker about “buffing it out”. The movie once again takes place in beautiful Miami where the two boys are taking down criminals the way they do.

It cuts to Mike and Marcus having drinks together, where Marcus drops a bomb: he’s retiring. Martin Lawrence’s character is ready to give up the guns and settle down, while Smith’s Mike is content with driving fast cars, and looking all 007. When Mike is tasked with bringing down a dangerous drug cartel, Marcus agrees to team up for one last “Bad Boys” mission and it looks like loads of fun.

Bad Boys For Life teases motorcycles chases, gun-slinging stylized fights, helicopter stunts and a whole lot of hilarious quips between the pair of detectives. Joe Pantoliano is back as Captain Howard to get agitated and throw f-bombs at Will Smith for his specific way of getting things done.

Additionally, Riverdale’s Charles Melton, High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens and Vikings’ Alexander Ludwig have joined the cast to sing “Bad Boys” much to the lead detectives’ annoyance. The action comedy also stars Paola Nuñez as Rita, Mike’s former girlfriend and head of the Miami unit.

The franchise got its start with Michael Bay’s direction and the upcoming release does boast some of the aesthetics of the filmmakers work. However, Bad Boys For Life is being helmed by newcomers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The screenplay was written by Smokin’ Aces’ Joe Carnahan and Chris Bremmer. It’s also being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Will Smith.

Bad Boys For Life looks to start off 2020 on a strong note when it comes to theaters on January 17.
