ReelBlend #89: Our Interview With Edward Norton
We don’t use the word “epic” that often around the ReelBlend podcast. We say “Dunkirk” all of the time. But “epic” is reserved for the truly momentous occasions, and this week qualifies.
The latest episode of ReelBlend hovers around two hours. And it includes SO MUCH material, leading off with an exclusive interview with Edward Norton on behalf of Motherless Brooklyn.
Edward Norton has starred in some of our favorite films, from Fight Club and Birdman to 25th Hour and Moonrise Kingdom. But he’s only directed two movies, including the upcoming New York detective noir based on Jonathan Lethem’s novel. He breaks down some cool stories from his career, and his work on Motherless Brooklyn, in this new interview with our own Kevin McCarthy, so give it a listen!
The boys were on the road again this week, except not with each other (as is the norm). They were in unbelievable places that, as Jake mentions on the show, are tailored perfectly for each guy’s tastes. Jake’s in Colorado for a press event for Doctor Sleep. Sean’s in New Jersey interviewing Bruce Springsteen for the new documentary Western Stars. And Kevin’s on vacation, but is incorporating his love for movies, of course.
Back to the show, proper. The guys break down the latest (and final) trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Have you seen this one yet?
And the ReelBlend podcast finally wades into the waters of the Martin Scorsese vs. Marvel debate. Their opinions may surprise you.
