The Batman’s Zoe Kravitz Cut Her Hair, And DC Fans Are Freaking
Matt Reeves’ The Batman is getting ready to start rolling cameras in the next few months, but there are a few preparations the actors are doing to get ready to enter Gotham City. Robert Pattinson is training in jiu-jitsu and Colin Farrell is getting the seal of approval from former Penguin, Danny DeVito. And now The Batman’s Catwoman, Zoë Kravitz, has chopped off her long locks for a pixie haircut ahead of inhabiting the role. Take a look:
That looks purr-fect, Catwoman! The Instagram post may just be an innocent selfie, but fans jumped right to what they’re excited to see next from Zoë Kravitz on the big screen – her Selina Kyle! The comments are swarmed with fans freaking about her new hairdo! “Meow,” “Catwoman” and “Ms. Kyle” are among words in reaction to the photo.
It’s a huge transformation for the 30-year-old actress from before. She’s been donning long hair (sometimes dreads) for quite some time, but she has worn a pixie cut before! It’s a good look for the Big Little Lies star, and while she doesn’t say a thing about it being connected to her Catwoman look, it has to be... right?
Selina Kyle has had tons of different looks and hairstyles over the years, both in the comics and on the big screen. But, her most recent famous look includes the same pixie cut Zoë Kravitz has right now! It’s helpful for the character’s cat ears and goggles to not be bothered by long hair. She can hide her identity better, and the less hair to pull out of one’s face while fighting, the better. Just check out her famed look below:
Pixie-cut Catwoman has become a fan-favorite over the years, and the thought of Zoë Kravitz getting to adapt her look is incredibly exciting! It’s also quite different from previous big screen Catwomen, Batman Returns' Michelle Pfeiffer and The Dark Knight Rises’ Anne Hathaway. It will allow the actress to differentiate herself from what came before and also do some fan service as well!
Along with Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz starring together in The Batman, the movie will star Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. The movie clearly has a packed cast and a ton of awesome villains to reintroduce come June 25, 2021.
But before we see The Batman, there’s a few more DC movies coming to the big screen. In 2020, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn returns for Birds of Prey and Gal Gadot will reprise Diana of Themyscira for Wonder Woman 1984. Check out what else is coming to theaters next year with our 2020 release calendar!
