Snyder Cut Fans React To Zack Snyder's Justice League Finally Being Available Outside Of HBO Max
Snyder Cut fans are accustomed to waiting. The most dedicated Zack Snyder fans waited (and fought) for three long years to get the director’s true vision of Justice League released by Warner Bros., which eventually happened earlier this year when the studio put the full four-hour cut on HBO Max. But Snyder Cut fans also wanted to have the ability to own a physical copy of the Snyder Cut of Justice League, in case the cut was removed from the digital streaming service… and also just to have a dope, complete collection on their DVD shelves. So when a U.S. release date for the Justice League Blu-ray and 4K release was announced, Snyder fans took to social media to celebrate.
Some of the celebrations got a little creepy.
One reason why the wait for a U.S. release date felt longer is because a Justice League Steelbook release was available in some international markets, and the UK Snyder Cut fans made sure to let all of us struggling Stateside to know how unlucky we were.
That is a gorgeous cover. It shows the unity of the Justice League heroes (not the Unity that Steppenwolf and Darkseid were trying to access), and it would make for a terrific poster for Zack Snyder’s complete take on the League’s first movie. This, of course, led to people suggesting imports to the U.S. (as if we haven’t already thought of that!)
Even better than the news that Zack Snyder’s Justice League will finally be available in 4K here in the U.S. is the tease that a box set that’s labeled Zack Snyder’s Justice League Trilogy. The set would include Man of Steel, the Ultimate Edition of Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and of course, the Snyder Cut of Justice League. That sounds like something every collector is going to want to get his or her hands on.
Either way, this is cause for celebration in the Snyder Cut community, which adds to the complete and total win that 2021 has been. It began with the release of Justice League on HBO Max, followed by a handful of charity screenings of the movie in its preferred IMAX format. I still believe that once theaters are back up and running at the full capacity, Zack Snyder will figure out some way to screen the Snyder Cut for his fans -- perhaps as part of a three-film marathon that tracks the director’s progress through the DCEU (or, what the DCEU was when he and his producing partner wife Debbie Snyder were running it).
Will you add the Snyder Cut of Justice League to your Blu-ray collection? Vote in our poll, and send a message to HBO Max and Warner Bros. that you support Snyder’s take on this material, so maybe one day, they will consider Restoring the SnyderVerse.
