Move Over, Regé-Jean Page Isn't The Only Bridgerton Star Landing Movie Roles Next
It’s no secret that the stars of Netflix’s Bridgerton have had meteoric rises to stardom since the series premiered last year. Regé-Jean Page arguably became the show's breakout star and has found a wealth of projects in the realm of film. And it looks like he won’t be the only ensemble member to branch out, as another Bridgerton star is landing some big movie roles, too.
Phoebe Dynevor was just announced as the star of Sony Pictures’ I Heart Murder. According to Deadline, Ingrid Goes West’s Matt Spicer has been tapped to direct the “female-driven thriller.” The screenplay, of which no details have been revealed, was written by Spicer and Tom O’Donnell.
I Heart Murder isn’t the only movie role that Phoebe Dynevor has booked since Bridgerton became a sensation. She is also set to co-star in The Colour Room, an upcoming film about British ceramic artist Clarice Cliff. These big career moves are great news for fans of Dynevor, especially given that we know her character, Daphne Bridgerton, will have a less prominent role in the Shondaland drama’s second season.
We will still get to see her, though, unlike her former on-screen love interest. Regé-Jean Page famously stepped away from Bridgerton’s highly anticipated Season 2, but he is keeping plenty busy. While those 007 rumors haven’t amounted to anything concrete yet, Page does have two exciting new film roles lined up. The first is the Netflix action film The Gray Man, in which he’ll be co-starring alongside another famous heartthrob, Chris Evans. Page is also slated to star in the upcoming adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons in a role that's yet to be revealed.
Unlike Regé-Jean Page, Phoebe Dynevor may have to pull double duty with Bridgerton and her other projects. Per Deadline, the second season is currently in production, so she may be able to wrap her duties there before beginning her new film roles. Regardless of how her schedule pans out, these career moves will truly allow her to flex her acting muscles, especially since her upcoming films seem to belong to different genres.
It’s easy to see why the Bridgerton cast is in such high demand. The series captivated Netflix viewers this past winter and quickly racked up some impressive accolades. Both Dynevor and Page earned their first SAG Award nominations for their work in the Bridgerton ensemble, and Page was also rightfully honored with the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.
I Heart Murder, The Colour Room, The Gray Man and Dungeons & Dragons don’t have release dates set yet, but CinemaBlend will be sure to keep you updated as soon as more details about each of the films are confirmed.
