Black Widow is on the verge of arriving in only a matter of weeks. Marvel fans have been waiting for this film for over a year. But even the film’s star Scarlett Johansson has been just as anxious as fans for the film to drop. With the Marvel film just around the corner, Johansson revealed her thoughts on her character’s solo film. The star explained her bittersweet feelings about leaving the MCU after her solo film debut.
Marvel fans’ farewell to Scarlett Johansson/ Black Widow has been a long and sad road. Her death in Avengers: Endgame and COVID delays didn’t make things any easier. But it’s also been hard for Johansson to deal with the film’s delay despite being ready to move on. The MCU star said about her feelings on her final Black Widow appearance:
Scarlett Johansson’s feelings on playing the Marvel character for the last time were understandable. From the moment Black Widow appeared in Iron Man 2, Johansson made the superheroine an integral part of the MCU. But that wasn’t the first time the actress revealed her thoughts on her final Black Widow appearance. As the actress stated, she and fellow MCU stars have become a family over the past decade. Of course, Marvel fans would agree. It’s a bit heartbreaking and sad to know Johansson may never put on her black catsuit again.
After addressing her feelings on her Black Widow swan song, Scarlett Johansson revealed husband Colin Jost hasn’t asked for spoilers. She called him “spoiler-adverse”, mentioning he even avoids conversations about the actress’s on-set stories. See the Black Widow star’s full Good Morning America interview below:
Kudos to Colin Jost for not wanting the MCU cameos and twists to be spoiled. Most guys would jump at the chance to know all the details from Scarlett Johansson. I mean he’s married to Black Widow herself. Given the multiple delays, it’s a surprise Johansson and Jost haven’t spilled any Black Widow secrets.
After a year of delays, it’s exciting and bittersweet to see Black Widow’s solo film serve as Scarlett Johansson’s final appearance in the MCU. To see Johansson’s possible final time as Black Widow, you can catch the Marvel film in theaters and on Disney+ on July 9. Thankfully, Marvel fans will find joy again as more Marvel films coming out this year and beyond.
