Looks Like Keanu Reeves' John Wick 4 Is Still Adding New Cast Members As Production Kicks Off
After seemingly endless delays, John Wick 4 has announced, in a very on-brand way, that production is finally underway. The script has been done for a while and some major talent has signed on for the film, and it looks like they’re not done adding to the all star cast just yet. As production on the newest film in the John Wick franchise kicks off, it looks like new cast members are coming on board.
According to Deadline, Scott Adkins is in negotiations to join the cast of John Wick 4. It’s unclear in what capacity Adkins is meant to play in the film, but his presence there would totally make sense. He is a major face in the martial arts scene and near the beginning of his acting career he played in Hong Kong martial arts films.
Scott Adkins has written and starred in his own movies, but he has also had small parts in some major films. He is the face of the Undisputed franchise, playing a professional Russian prison fighter, which has a cult following.
Scott Adkins has appeared in a couple Marvel films in the past, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Doctor Strange. Adkins is seemingly a pretty perfect villain, and played one opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange.
His background in martial arts, along with a number of other fighting styles, would make John Wick a pretty comfortable home for Scott Adkins. It is possible if he ends up signing on to the film, that we could see him take up another villainous role-- even though he has expressed his regret over acting a villain in Doctor Strange possibility for fear of becoming type-cast.
Currently, Scott Adkins is filming Day Shift, an action comedy set for Netflix. He stars with big names like Jaime Foxx, Dave Franco, and Meagan Good. He also has a couple films in their final stages, Castle Falls and One Shot, where he acts opposite Ashley Greene.
Originally John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 were going to be filmed together, but since seeing all the delays, John Wick: Chapter 4 has become more of a priority. It could be that these late casting decisions could bled into the 5th film in some way, and we could have the potential for seeing some of these casting choices remain in the fifth film. Of course, if John Wick doesn’t get to them first.

Either way, if Scott Adkins does end up with a role in John Wick 4, he’s bound to bring some more badassery to the franchise along with fellow martial artist Hiroyuki Sanada. The next film in the John Wick franchise sounds like it’s off to a pretty amazing start, and it’s just at the starting line of production.
