The Addams Family 2 Trailer Puts The Family On A Trip From Hell (Lucky Them)
2019 saw the reintroduction of one of the spookiest families in all of pop culture, as The Addams Family made their debut in the world of animation. The results were impressive enough that it would have been scary not to bring them back into theaters, which meant that The Addams Family 2 was quickly dealt into the cards, provided the concept was enough of a grabber to get the world’s attention. With Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron returning to head up this scary sequel, it’s time for the Addams to go where they haven’t gone before: on a great big family road trip.
As you can see in the first trailer for The Addams Family 2, Gomez and Morticia are afraid that Wednesday and Pugsley are growing up way too fast. They won’t even show up to dinner at this point, though their refusal is still in the "polite note at the dinner table" phase. This means it's not too late to enforce a little family bonding time, through an all out vacation that's ready to go from scream to shining scream! But if you know the Addams family, then you know that this trip isn’t just going to be a drop in the bucket.
The Addams Family 2 sees the legendary family of comic and cinematic shenanigans going to some pretty big places, like Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon. Those are solid vacation destinations if you want to go somewhere popular, or if you want to cause an incident that leaves a lot of witnesses. With voodoo dolls and explosives in the mix, anything can happen, and there’s plenty of room to be prepared when you’re tooling around in a vehicle like the Addams family camper. Shown below, it’s a truly inspired crossroads of gothic spookiness and party ready roadster:
Just look at that baby! It's ready to fit a whole family of cartoon legends, in hopes of bringing them together closer than ever! As far as the voice cast for The Addams Family 2 is concerned, most of the family is back to voice their respective characters. On top of Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron respectively returning as Gomez and Morticia Addams, Chloe Grace Moretz is back as Wednesday Addams, Nick Kroll is still on deck as Uncle Fester, and Bette Midler will be Grandma Addams once more. Even Snoop Dogg will be returning as Cousin Itt, though there will be a slight change up in this new Addams Family adventure.
Voicing Pugsley Addams in The Addams Family 2 is actor Javon Walton, who’s best known for his work on TV series like Utopia and Euphoria. Walton is stepping in for Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, who originated the role in The Addams Family. And another new addition to the cast is SNL vet and Barry star Bill Hader, playing the role of Cyrus. With cast members new and old on deck, The Addams Family 2 is ready to be creepy, kooky, and mysteriously spooky on a vacation to die for. And thanks to this first trailer teasing those delights, we're ready to pack our bags and head out on the trail with them!
The Addams Family 2 packs its bags, and makes its way to theaters on October 1st. What would be more frightening than missing out on this new adventure is skipping the rest of the 2021 release schedule, without even a thought. It’s a good thing we have that listing ready to go, otherwise who knows what horrors you may have missed out on without it.
