Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Zendaya Talks Being ‘Close’ With Her Co-Stars Amidst Rumors She’s Dating Tom Holland
If the Spider-Man casting directors ever decided to switch careers, they could be successful matchmakers, don’t you think? Here we are talking about a third possible couple from the Marvel franchise, this time with No Way Home stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. They were photographed by paparazzi last week sharing an epic kiss in the Spider-Man actor’s car in Los Angeles. Now, Zendaya may not be one to kiss and tell, but she is making some sweet comments about their upcoming Marvel film.
Zendaya is currently promoting Space Jam: New Legacy where she voices Lola Bunny. In the middle of talking about the basketball movie, the 24-year-old actress spoke about her next project Spider-Man: No Way Home, and we can’t help but connect her comments to the dating rumors as the movie approaches late this year. Here’s what she said:
Zendaya showed her optimism for the third Spider-Man movie she stars in alongside Tom Holland as we wait impatiently for a first trailer for the film. Based on her comments to ET Online, she has developed a close bond with the cast during the movie franchise, and she’s counting down the days until they can come together to promote it. It’s not much to go on the rumored dating front, but it certainly has us smirking at how adorable her and Holland are.
I don’t think the idea of on-screen romantic interests actually falling in love on the set of their films will ever get old. It’s just incredibly cute. Tom Holland and Zendaya have clear chemistry between each other and have an established friendship since meeting while working on Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. Whether it’s been a longtime secret romance, friends to lovers situation or simply a summer fling, our Spidey senses are definitely tingling about these two.
This has happened two times over in the Spider-Man franchise. During the original Spider-Man trilogy, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst apparently dated while they played Peter and MJ in the Sam Raimi films. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone also became a couple after playing Peter and Gwen Stacy in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, before breaking up in 2015.
Last we saw Tom Holland and Zendaya on screen, MJ had been let in on Peter Parker’s other life as Spider-Man just before the whole world learned about it, courtesy of Mysterio. The couple are still a bit awkward, but it seems like their relationship is heading toward romance on the big screen. Come the press tour, if Tom Holland and Zendaya are in fact really dating, it’s going to be a big topic amidst rumors of the movie also involving the prior Spider-Man actors. We can look forward to Spider-Man: No Way Home swinging into theaters on December 17.
