The superhero genre has been dominating the entertainment industry for years, and there’s no signs of slowing down. While the MCU continues to expand thanks to Black Widow and Loki, fans were surprised/ delighted to see Ryan Reynolds join the franchise in a fun web short featuring Taika Waititi’s Korg. And Hugh Jackman had the perfect response to that video.
For years now, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have engaged in a social media “feud”, with the two actors throwing jabs at each other on social media. This all began as the Deadpool franchise made its way to theaters, with Jackman’s Wolverine noticeably missing. And now that the Merc with The Mouth has seemingly joined the MCU, Jackman took to the comments section, saying:
The shade of it all. Rather than addressing the wild crossover featuring Deadpool and Korg, or Ryan Reynolds’ potential future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, instead Hugh Jackman took the time to take his frenemy down a few pegs. Because really, what else did you expect to happen?
Hugh Jackman’s comments are on Ryan Reynolds’ recent Instagram post, which revealed a video he shot promoting his upcoming movie Free Guy. He and co-star Taika Waititi both reprised their comic book characters as Deadpool and Korg respectively, with Marvel studios seemingly co-signing and even making the necessary visual effects happen. While Ryan Reynolds’ character still has to return to the big screen, it was surprising and exciting way to keep fans satiated.
The MCU’s streaming home is on Disney+, which also features a number of X-Men movies with Hugh Jackman. You can use this link to sign up for the streaming service.
For those who might not have caught it, you can see the video in question below. It's the most Deadpool way to join the MCU ever, with no pomp and circumstance. That is, until he finally gets the spotlight on the big screen or gets to interact with The Avengers.

While Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ online “feud” shows no signs of slowing, I’m sure Marvel fans out there are especially excited for Deadpool to join the shared universe. It’s still unclear how the R-rated franchise could function within the MCU, and where this first major crossover will take place. But with Reynolds back in Deadpool’s signature costume and filming content, the possibilities seem endless.
And since Hugh Jackman hung up his claws for good after starring in Logan, there’s been a ton of talk about if/when the X-Men will also join the MCU. If Wolverine is adapted, whoever gets the role would have some seriously big shoes to fill. And they’ll also probably be the butt of some jokes by Ryan Reynolds.
Black Widow is in theaters now, and the next MCU installment is Shang-Chi. As for Ryan Reynolds, you can catch him in Free Guy starting August 13th. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
