With Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally starting in theaters thanks to Black Widow, there are a number of thrilling projects to look forward to. Perhaps no future MCU installment is as highly anticipated as Spider-Man: No Way Home, and there are countless theories about what the mysterious threequel might include. One popular theory is that Charlie Cox could reprise his role as Daredevil, possibly serving as Peter Parker’s lawyer in the process. Buckle up because said theory just got more legs for a surprising reason.
Those involved with Spider-Man: No Way Home have been guarding the movie’s secrets, while countless rumors swirl around Tom Holland’s next Marvel appearance. Some fans have been holding out hope that Daredevil could finally hit the big screen in the upcoming movie, and are being encouraged thanks to actor Charlie Cox cancelling a convention appearance. Especially since the reason given was a scheduling conflict. You can see the cancellation announcement below.
Now the question is: what film project gave Charlie Cox an unexpected scheduling conflict? Some fans are taking this as a potential sign that the actor is involved in Spider-Man: No Way Home reshoots. And just like that, the rumor about Daredevil has been given momentum.
The above announcement comes to us from the Twitter of the Celebrity Fan Fest convention. It seems Daredevil star Charlie Cox was originally set to appear on August 7th, but has since dropped out due to a scheduling conflict. Now we're left wondering if that’s for Spider-Man: No Way Home, or for another project entirely. After all, he’s attached to a new series titled Kin.

Charlie Cox has played a unique role in the MCU, as Daredevil was the first and by far most popular Marvel show on Netflix. Unfortunately all five of those series were cancelled, and characters like Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones failed to ever appear on the big screen. But fans are holding out hope that Cox might be the first thanks to Spider-Man 3.

These theories about Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home came immediately after Far From Home hit theaters back in 2019. The mid-credits scene saw Mysterio frame Peter Parker for murder, while also revealing his identity as Spider-Man. It would seem like Tom Holland’s character is in need of a lawyer, one that happens to be a vigilante on the side. We’ll just have to wait and see if any of these rumors are confirmed.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to arrive in theaters on December 17th. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
