Star Wars Fans Are Annoyed After Disney Reveals Star Wars Galactic Cruiser Experience Ticket Prices
Knowing what we already know about the immersive Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience that’s currently being constructed in Orlando’s Walt Disney World theme park, we expected the price of admission to be steep. But based on the reactions of hopeful Rebels and possible Empire overlords who were planning their vacations around a visit to the Starcruiser, the cost for visiting a galaxy far, far away is going to cost them far, far too much.
Walt Disney World unveiled some of the first pricing packages for Standard Cabins aboard the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, a two-night experience in a cabin or suite on the ship that includes so many amenities aimed to make guests feel like they are living their own Star Wars adventure. The Galactic Starcruiser will use characters, activities, food and beverage, and the design of the hotel to encourage visitors to live out a story set in the Star Wars universe that’s personal and specific to each person. Ultimately, though, it’s still just a hotel in Orlando.
Still, the reality of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is that it’s an out-of-this-world experience, the kind you won’t be able to find anywhere else on this planet. That has some die-hards going to extremes to meet the costs suggested by the Theme Park giant.
Others just used this announcement as an opportunity to take Jurassic Park-themed jabs at the company (kind of ignoring the fact that Walt Disney Theme Parks is sinking a fortune into even making this Star Wars experience a reality):
Still contemplating booking passage on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser when it opens for business in 2022? I don’t blame you. If I lived and breathed Star Wars, as many of you reading this probably do, then I’d be doing whatever I could to make it happen. But these prices will make it difficult for many who might have harbored dreams of stepping into the reality for a two-night jaunt around the galaxies. Here’s the starting price structure for a go at the fun.
Keep in mind, those prices are “Weeknight” departure rates. Not sure what they might go up to on the weekends. This might be the starting point for Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. If the feedback keeps reflecting the reality that most fans can’t participate at this price point, Disney may rethink the matter. We’ll keep updating details about the park, and this immersive Star Wars experience, as they drop. But at this going rate, do you think Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is something you will be able to book right out of the gate in 2022? Or is it something that you would eventually save for, so you could experience it with friends and family members at a later date? Vote in our poll below.
