Ryan Reynolds Celebrated Free Guy’s Premiere By Poking Fun At Blake Lively. Because Of Course
Marriage is about a lot of things, with sharing being the greatest concept baked into the whole practice. Whether it’s feelings, a family or the spotlight, a marriage like the one between Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively is definitely one that has been built on that very bedrock. So naturally, Free Guy’s big New York premiere was the perfect time for Reynolds to poke fun at his beloved wife, because of course.
Constantly riding the line between humor and heart, Ryan Reynolds has yet again used his social media powers to troll Blake Lively. While showing off some lovely photos of the pair at Free Guy’s big unveiling, Reynolds dropped some of his usual cheek into the Instagram caption that accompanied those snapshots. Come for the photogenic love, stay for the snark in the post below:
This is only the latest round of good-natured ribbing that’s taken place between Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. Who can forget the Valentine’s Day messages that saw the two embracing their love with choice gags inspired by the content of those posts? This Free Guy premiere celebration takes that energy and channels it into the moment of Reynolds’s long-awaited theatrical release finally making its debut.
Going back to the subject of the caption though, the message that Ryan Reynolds chose to include definitely leaves him open to some comedic retaliation. Directly tagging Blake Lively in his Free Guy post was one thing, but making the joke you’re about to read is almost akin to social media war. We could be wrong, but try telling us you wouldn’t take a shot yourself after reading that message yourself:
It’s the playful energy that radiates between Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively that makes following both of their antics so much fun. And that sort of savvy does help sell a movie like Free Guy, though as we’ve seen in some of the ads that Reynolds and his Maximum Effort team have put together, it’s a cherry on top of a very fun sundae. That being said, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to see if Ms. Lively roasts her husband/hairdresser any time soon, and whether or not some other friends jump in on the fun as well.
As for the fun of Free Guy, you can dive into that experience head first on August 13. It’s just one of many exercises in fun that the 2021 release schedule has to offer, especially if you’re a fan of Ryan Reynolds and the cut of his particular jib. If you look closely enough, you might even find another offering or two of his on the board, ready to entertain you in the near future.
