Wait… did Billie Eilish just get inducted into becoming a Disney Princess? Let’s see here, she has a great voice and she sings about following her dreams, falling in love and experiencing heartbreak. She may or may not have looked at her reflection in a body of water at some point and she grew up in the bustling kingdom of Los Angeles, California. Ahead of the 19-year-old singer’s Disney+ special, the studio has transformed her into an animated character.
Complete with glittering pixie dust, Billie Eilish was turned into a drawn version of herself as her latest tune “Happier Than Ever” plays in the background. The bibbidi-bobbidi-boo moment sets up a clip for her special Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles, which is coming to Disney+ next month. Check it out:
The teaser sets up a unique aspect of the concert special that will include a number of animated sequences of Billie Eilish’s music helmed by its co-director Patrick Osborne, who was behind the 2014 Oscar-winning Disney short Feast. The other director who lined up the live-action sequences is Robert Rodriguez, known for Sin City, Spy Kids and From Dusk Till Dawn, among many other famed movies.
The animated scenes in the Happier Than Ever concert special will reportedly entail some dream-like sequences that illustrate Billie Eilish’s music in between the artist playing her new album in sequential order at the Hollywood Bowl. Seeing the “bad guy” singer in the animated format in between her performances sounds like it will really add some dimension to the special. Here’s another look at animated look at Eilish in A Love Letter To Los Angeles:
Billie Eilish released her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, last week. It’s a 16-track album that has the Grammy-winning artist singing about body positivity, sexual fantasies, her young fame and a heart-wrenching breakup. The singer is a role model for many girls and women since she came onto the scene with her single “Ocean Eyes” in 2016. In 2018, she gained mainstream recognition, including being the youngest artist to deliver a James Bond theme song, which will be heard in No Time To Die.

This release comes after her AppleTV+ documentary The World’s A Little Blurry and feels akin to Disney+ working with Beyoncé for the visual album Black Is King, which wove themes from The Lion King with the music she wrote for the live-action remake. Check out Eilish as an animated character on September 3.
