Spider-Man is one of the most popular characters in Marvel history, so he’s been adapted for film a number of times over the years. But prior to Tom Holland’s take in the MCU, Andrew Garfield starred in the pair of Amazing Spider-Man movies. And an awesome new deepfake sees Holland replace Garfield in the original.

Moviegoers are eager for any information about Jon Watts’ upcoming movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. There are a ton of rumors circulating about the project, including the possibility of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield once again appearing as Peter Parker via the multiverse. As we wait for any confirmation, this deepfake imagines Holland taking on Garfield’s role in the Amazing Spider-Man movies. Check it out below.

I… can’t look away. Deepfakes are a trippy thing, with the technology allowing basically anyone’s face to be added to a movie. And while Tom Holland was way too young to play the role at the time, he does look pretty convincing replacing Andrew Garfield in Amazing Spider-Man.

The above video comes to us from the YouTube account Stryder HD. They’ve gotten a number of followers thanks to convincing deepfakes, which often blow the minds of Star Wars and Marvel fans. This new clip is no exception, and is sure to add fuel to the rumors about Andrew Garfield appearing with Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The MCU has found its streaming home on Disney+, where you can see Tom Holland’s tenure as Peter Parker. You can use this link to sign up for the streaming service.

The above video only features clips from the first Amazing Spider-Man movie, and specifically scenes where Peter Parker is in casual clothes. We never see Tom Holland’s face edited over Andrew Garfield’s while in the actual Spider-Man costume. Although we can technically see Holland in his own suit whenever we want thanks to the MCU.

As previously mentioned, there are a number of rumors currently circulating about Spider-Man: No Way Home. The most popular is that the blockbuster will dive into the multiverse, especially with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange part of the cast. But both Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield have denied reports of previous Peter Parkers appearing in the upcoming threequel. That hasn’t stopped more theories from popping up, with some including the likes of Emma Stone and Kirsten Dunst. We’ll just have to wait for any information or footage from the studio.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently expected to hit theaters on December 17th. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
