I Could Watch Kevin Hart And Don Cheadle Argue All Day
Let me introduce you to my new favorite duo: Kevin Hart and Don Cheadle. You read that right, move aside Dwayne Johnson and well… Robert Downey Jr already did his Marvel scooting. These two are incredible together, and this has unexpectedly blown up the internet thanks to a recent collaboration together that got playfully dicey. Sometimes you know the chemistry between two people is real when they can bicker like an old married couple, and let me just say, Hart and Cheadle’s viral argument is hilarious in the best way.
Don Cheadle was a guest on Kevin Hart’s new talk show Hart To Heart, which is streaming on Peacock (for free by the way). Ever since a tweet involving a segment of their conversation was shared, people can’t stop talking about it. Even Hart joined in on the fun after noticing his recent guest was gaining some extra attention:
During the segment of the 40-minute conversation between Kevin Hart and Don Cheadle, the Avengers: Endgame actor revealed he is 56 years old, and the standup comedian cut him off mid-sentence with a loud “Damn!” before saying he was sorry. The two actors then get into a funny back and forth about what he intended when he said the expletive. Because it’s a little intense, it got people talking.
The exchange was deemed awkward and cringey, but come on, it’s clearly a bit! Both of these men are brilliant comedic actors and they knew where they were going with it. Nonetheless, let the meme-ery commence:
After his name was being called out left and right, Don Cheadle took to Twitter to assure folks that the interview was done in good fun, and what they saw out of context was just how they “play.” In his words:
If you do check out the Hart To Heart episode, you’ll see it more clearly. At the beginning of the episode, Kevin Hart denies Don Cheadle wine and has the show’s personal sommelier pour him a glass in front of him and give Cheadle two sips worth of water next to him instead. Hart then goes into some odd questions, like asking if he does drugs, and Cheadle also makes fun of the actor for wearing a vest and being into jazz. They take digs at each other the entire interview and it’s just fun to watch, okay?
The actors have apparently known each other since 1998. They previously worked together on Don Cheadle’s Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead. Cheadle directed and starred in the project, and Hart worked on the film as an executive producer. Cheadle also appeared in Hart’s 2016 comedy special What Now? as himself. Hart just started his show and is finding his groove as a talk show host, so it definitely makes sense that fans might not understand right away, but hey, now you do.
