Harley Quinn movies have become some of the most popular comic book movies in recent memory, despite the fact that Harley did not start out as a comic book character. Years after Bruce Timm and Paul Dini created her for Batman: The Animated Series, she made her live-action superhero movie debut in Suicide Squad, as played by Margot Robbie, and her popularity increased a hundredfold ever since.

The latest DC movie to feature the Clown Princess of Crime was 2024’s Joker: Folie á Deux, starring Academy Award winner Lady Gaga as a whole new, even darker take on the character. We are bound to see her appear in more upcoming Batman movies but, for now, let’s take a look at all the Harley Quinn movies you watch right now.

What it’s about: Amanda Waller forces a group of incarcerated supervillains to do her dirty work in exchange for less time in prison.

Why it’s a good option for Harley Quinn fans: Oscar nominee Margot Robbie did not expect Harley Quinn to blow up when she made her first appearance in the role in Suicide Squad (which also counts as a live-action Batman movie) before reprising the role to even greater acclaim in James Gunn’s THE Suicide Squad.

What it’s about: As the Dark Knight searches for a bomb, a group of convicted criminals are forced to become heroes after The Riddler hides stolen, top-secret information somewhere in Arkham Asylum.

Why it’s a good option for Harley Quinn fans: While the title suggests it is an animated Batman movie, Batman: Assault on Arkham is really one of the best Suicide Squad movies yet, in my opinion, and marks Harley Quinn’s (Hynden Walch) first feature-length adventure with Task Force X.

Why it’s a good option for Harley Quinn fans: The first time Harley Quinn shared the screen with Will Arnett (one of the best Batman voice actors) as the Caped Crusader was when underrated former SNL star Jenny Slate voiced her in The LEGO Batman Movie, which offers a lighter, but still pretty one-sided, interpretation of her relationship with Mister J.

BONUS: Notable TV Shows With Harley Quinn

As established, Harley Quinn’s existence began when Arleen Sorkin voiced her on one of the all-time best Batman TV shows, Batman: The Animated Series, in 1992. A decade later, she made her live-action debut, as played by Ferris Bueller’s Day Off cast member Mia Sara, on the short-lived WB drama, Birds of Prey, and eventually got her own hit, self-titled animated series (exclusive with a Max subscription) with Kaley Cuoco taking over the role in 2019. Most recently, a new version of Dr. Harleen Quinzel (voiced by Jamie Chung), appeared on Amazon Prime’s Batman: Caped Crusader.

One day, we hope that we can add the still unmade Gotham City Sirens movie (based on a comic that teams up Harley Quinn with Catwoman and Poison Ivy) to this list. Until then, there are more than enough adventures featuring the Clown Princess of Crime above to keep you occupied.
