A Shirtless Jason Momoa Thanked The Fans For Sweet Girl’s Success On Netflix
2021 will go down as a momentous year for Jason Momoa. Back in April, we saw his original performance as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League presented on HBO Max, and this fall, we’ll see him bring Duncan Idaho to life in Dune. Additionally, Momoa can currently be seen as Ray Cooper in the Netflix movie Sweet Girl, and coming off the movie’s first weekend on the streaming service, Momoa decided to thank fans for checking out the movie, and he did it sans shirt.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Jason Momoa revealed just how well Sweet Girl did during its first days of availability on Netflix, and along with expressing gratitude to the viewers, he also name-dropped costars Isabela Merced and Adria Arjona, as well as director Brian Andrew Mendoza and producer Jeff Fierson. First off, for those of you wanting that sweet shirtless Momoa visual, take a look:
Now for those of you who haven’t pulled up the videos already after than enticing tease, here’s what Jason Momoa had to say in the videos:
But Jason Momoa didn’t stop at talking about Sweet Girl. He also mentioned that the second season of his Apple TV+ series, See, will, premiere later this week, with Dune costar Dave Bautista appearing in Season 2 as Edo Voss, the brother of Momoa’s Baba Voss. And speaking of Dune, that arrives on October 22, premiering both in theaters and on HBO Max (which you can subscribe to with this link). But as things currently stand, Momoa is shining for Sweet Girl, which was officially announced in July 2019 and filmed from the following November to February 2020.
Sweet Girl (which was written by Philip Eisner and Gregg Hurwitz) sees Jason Momoa’s Ray Cooper seeking to being justice to the people responsible for his wife’s death, and all while protecting his daughter from harm. Along with Isabella Merced playing Ray’s daughter Rachel and Adria Arjona appearing as Ray’s wife Amanda, Sweet Girl’s cast also includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Amy Brenneman, Justin Bartha, Raza Jaffrey and Lex Scott Davis, among others.
Of course, Jason Momoa is hardly shy when it comes to showing himself shirtless in public, and you won’t have any trouble of him doing so on social media in 2021 alone. However, if you’re itching to see him topless in a cinematic setting, this will undoubtedly happen in the movie he’s currently filming, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is due out on December 16, 2022. Until then, keep visiting CinemaBlend for all the biggest Momoa-centric news out there.
