Both Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista are actors known for their signature roles and genre work. Namely, playing Aquaman and Drax in the DCEU and MCU respectively. And while we’ll see the pair of hulking actors in the new Dune adaptation, Momoa has now responded to Bautista's team-up movie idea.
Just last week, Dave Bautista tweeted out a pitch for him and Jason Momoa to star in a team-up movie. He’s hoping to eventually do a buddy comedy ala Lethal Weapon, which sounds like a killer concept. Now the Game of Thrones alum has reacted to this viral tweet, saying:
Don’t play with my emotions, Aquaman. It looks like Jason Momoa is all-in on the idea of doing a buddy cop movie with Dave Bautista. Let’s just hope that these fun talks turn into something more serious sometime down the line. He's certainly making it sound like a possibility.
Jason Momoa’s comments come from his recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. While promoting his new Netflix movie Sweet Girl, eventually the conversation turned to his ongoing friendship and potential collaboration with Dave Bautista. As Momoa mentions, the pair have already worked together a number of times throughout the years.
Dune will be available on HBO Max, which also featured Jason Momoa’s appearances in the DCEU. You can use this link to sign up for the streaming service.
Both Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista are bankable actors, who have led action franchises like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Army of the Dead. What’s more, Momoa is also credited with the story for his upcoming DC sequel. If the right script comes together, perhaps we’ll see the pair back on the big screen together.

Luckily for us, Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista will co-star in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movie shortly. The highly anticipated adaptation looks like a wild theatrical experience, although some will no doubt be watching from home. We’ll just have to wait and see how it performs at the box office, and if Villeneuve is granted his sequel(s).
